Jan Alen
Jan has worked in the area of leadership for more than 25 years. She brings a wealth of experience and insight to her work supporting the development of leaders, aspirants and leadership teams across a diverse range of schools, systems and organisations in Australia and internationally including Vietnam, Thailand, UAE, Malaysia, Indonesia and the South Pacific.
Jan is driven by a desire to increase the confidence and capability of leaders and aspiring leaders. Her style of facilitation and coaching provides a balance of theory and practice to enable leaders to accelerate their learning and apply their skills to ‘real work’ challenges. Her approach is to support individual leaders and teams 'in situ' to enable them to lead people and grow high performing organisations. Jan’s clients give testimony to her ability to coach individual and teams to reach their potential through a strong and trusting relationship that both challenges and supports them.
Her experience includes the development and implementation of system wide leadership capability standards and frameworks, leadership assessment centres, mentoring and work shadowing programs and strategies to increase the career opportunities of women in organisations.
Jan is a recipient of the prestigious Australia Endeavour Award spending three months working with leaders in Vietnam and was awarded an ACEL Fellowship (Queensland). She supported the capacity building of leaders in developing countries through her coaching work with CEOs, and leaders of new social enterprises.
Jan began her career as a primary teacher in Victoria before moving to Queensland in 1993. She has a Diploma of Teaching, Graduate Diploma Women’s Studies and is accredited in MBTI, LSI and Benchmarks.
